LUMINOUS Fest is Canada’s first Black Muslim Arts Festival - an all-day multi-disciplinary arts festival celebrating the contributions of Black Muslims. This family-friendly event is hosted by Timaj Garad features musical and spoken word performances, arts-based workshops, live painting, and a live panel discussion on the theme Black Muslim Art Matters.
This year’s ground-breaking event was a beautiful gathering of over 250 community members on Eid-ul-Fitr weekend 2018, June 16th 2018 at Confederation Park (250 Dolly Varden Blvd.). Luminous Fest 2019 preparations are underway - donations and/ sponsorship to fund this initiative are now being accepted, we welcome future contributors to the 2nd annual LUMINOUS Fest 2019!
